Aroma

Elegant and refined bouquet with aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, and dried figs, complemented by hints of spice, leather, and a touch of vanilla.

Palate

Full-bodied with silky tannins, delivering layers of dark fruit, subtle spice, and a delicate smokiness. The long and persistent finish reveals the sophistication of this Merlot Riserva.

Additional Notes

Complex and fine, with notes of red fruit and flowers, complemented by hints of sweet spices and vanilla. On the palate, it is elegant, harmonious, and persistent, with red fruit flavors, a spicy finish, and soft, delicate tannins.

Vinification

Crafted exclusively from 100% Merlot grapes sourced from vines over 70 years old in the “Piana Vecchia” parcel. These old vines yield only a few grams per plant, resulting in extraordinary quality. Traditional vinification takes place in open steel tanks with maceration for approximately 30 days, involving several punch-downs.

Ageing

Aged in 300-liter French oak barrels, with a maximum of 25% first-pass wood, for 18–24 months. This process is followed by bottle aging to achieve its exceptional complexity and depth.
