The quality of our wines has gained international recognition, mainly our Premium product lines. We are a company that is constantly developing new products.

Red wines

Riserva Tre Api


100% Merlot from vines over 70 years old in the parcel named “Piana Vecchia.”

The yield of these old vines is limited to just a few grams per plant, resulting in exceptional quality.

Vinification: Traditional fermentation in open steel tanks with maceration lasting about 30 days, during which multiple punch-downs are performed.

Aging: In 300-liter French oak barrels, with a maximum of 25% new wood.

Tasting Notes: A complex and refined nose with notes of red fruits and flowers, complemented by hints of sweet spices and vanilla. On the palate, it is elegant, very persistent, and harmonious. Flavors of red fruits are also prominent, with a spicy finish and soft, delicate tannins.

Maturity: 3-6 years or more.

Riserva Ernesto

In honor of the estate’s founder, Ernst Otto Bally, the choice fell on his name.

75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc from our “Ronco” and “Piana” vineyards, with vines over 35 years old.

The soil in these parcels is clay-limestone with a moderate presence of rocky material.

Vinification: Traditional fermentation in cement tanks with maceration lasting 25-30 days.

Aging: In 300-liter French oak barrels, with a maximum of 25% new wood.

  • Grand Prix of Swiss Wine 2013: Silver Medal for Ernesto 2009, 87.2 points

Tasting Notes: A complex and powerful nose with notes of ripe fruit intertwined with sweet spices and tobacco. On the palate, it is full and elegant with excellent persistence. Red fruit flavors emerge, followed by a spicy and well-balanced tannic finish.

Maturity: 4-8 years or more.

Cresperino


100% Merlot from the “Crespera” parcel.

The soil in this parcel is clay-limestone with a good presence of rocky material. The vines have an average age of 35 years.

Vinification: Traditional fermentation in cement tanks with a maceration period of approximately 14 days.

Aging: In 300-liter barrels of second and third passage.

Tasting Notes: The nose reveals floral notes and fresh red berries. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with good acidity. Fresh fruity flavors are also present, with a finish marked by subtle hints of spice and tobacco. It has good persistence, supported by present yet soft tannins.

Maturity: 2-6 years.

Topazio

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc from our “Ronco” and “Piana” vineyards, with vines over 35 years old.

Sarabanda

White Merlot

100% Merlot grapes from the youngest vineyards of the estate

Vinification: White winemaking after gentle pressing, with no added products for color correction.

Aging: In stainless steel and bottle for approximately 6 months.

Tasting Notes: A floral and fruity nose with hints of wild berries, grapefruit, and white peaches. On the palate, it is fresh with a pleasant acidity, featuring a soft and persistent finish.

Maturity: 1-2 years.

La Piana

100% Chardonnay from our “La Piana” vineyard, where the presence of limestone is significant.
Vinification: In French barriques after gentle pressing.

Aging: 10 months in wood on its own lees with frequent bâtonnage.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, notes of white fruit are well balanced with toasted and vanilla aromas from the aging wood. The palate is enveloping and well-balanced, with hints of honey and citrus. Very long and persistent, La Sfinge is undoubtedly a white wine capable of aging and pairing with structured dishes.

Maturity: 2-5 years.

Very long and persistent, La Sfinge is a white wine capable of aging and pairing well with structured dishes.

Sparkling wine & Distilled

Quarzo

Sparkling Merlot

Sparkling Wine from 100% Merlot grapes from our “Collina” vineyard, where the presence of quartz is significant.

Vinification: Traditional white winemaking after gentle pressing, followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle using the classic method.

Aging: At least 12 months on its lees. Brut dosage.

Awards:

  • AWC Vienna 2015: Silver Medal for Quarzo 2013
  • Peter Keller, NZZ 04/2015: Wine of the Week, Quarzo 2013

Tasting Notes: A fruity nose with aromas of wild strawberries and white-fleshed fruits, complemented by floral and elderflower notes. The palate is pleasantly sparkling with fine bubbles, very persistent, and refreshingly dry. A truly excellent sparkling wine suitable for pairing throughout the meal.

Maturity: Up to 2 years.

We recommend the Grappa chocolates we have had the pleasure of crafting in collaboration with Confiserie Brändli in Aarau. These artisanal delights are made with the finest dark chocolate and filled with Grappa from our Bally and von Teufenstein estate, offering an exquisite refinement.

O’Port Uno

Port-Style Dessert Wine

Made from 100% Merlot grapes from our vineyards in Ticino, known for their optimal ripening conditions.

Vinification: The wine is fortified with a neutral spirit during fermentation to preserve its natural sweetness, following the traditional port wine method adapted to our Merlot grapes.

Aging: As a new release, O’Port Uno is likely aged briefly to maintain its vibrant, fruit-forward character, typical of a ruby port style.

Tasting Notes: Sweet and rich, with flavors of dark fruits such as blackberry and plum, complemented by hints of chocolate and spices. The wine finishes with a smooth, lingering sweetness that balances its robust structure.

Maturity: Best enjoyed within 5-10 years of release, though its aging potential may vary based on storage conditions.
